The Integrity Management business area provides support across system development, asset monitoring and engineering support activities through to life extension of mature assets. The service covers different asset types; rigid pipelines, flexibles, structures and associated equipment.
This typically covers:
- Management system development
- System audit
- Asset monitoring
- Integrity reporting
- Corrosion modelling
- Risk assessment
- Inspection system definition, selection and management
- Inspection planning and selection
- Anomaly management
- Fitness for purpose assessments
- Inspection execution management
- Defect assessments
- Life extension
The breadth of experience and integrity management capability at Samphire allows us to assist operators with a range of services from solving one-off problems arising from the results of inspection, testing and maintenance through to the provision of a fully integrated integrity service year on year.
SUBSEA FACILITIES LIFE EXTENSION
SAMPHIRE SUBSEA CASE STUDY
Life extension is valuable, not only in terms of direct income to the operator, but also with regard to security of supply for the UK. The NSTA/NSRI initiative around small pools depends upon existing infrastructure being kept in service long enough to facilitate the tie-back of small pools before they become stranded.
Samphire has a wide range of experience of life extension studies for a variety of subsea equipment including rigid pipelines, flexible risers and riser support systems, manifolds and valves, safety critical equipment, controls and chemical injection systems.
The team has worked with the standard life extension methodologies (e.g. ISO 12747:2013, NORSOK Y-002). In addition, the team also has experience of assessing issues such as obsolescence.
It is also important to understand the legislative requirements related to life extension, an area in which Samphire also has experience.
Samphire has been able to provide a clear basis for life extension of critical subsea equipment thus supporting the ongoing development of key North Sea hub infrastructure.
SAMPHIRE SUBSEA CASE STUDY
In a mature operating environment, a good understanding of the asset risks is critical to maximising production and supporting the efficient operation of the plant.
The proper evaluation of the risks through a structured assessment process is more critical for aging assets. The current asset configuration and condition are key inputs to the assessment and help make sure the risk is properly defined. In combination with the right team this will help ensure that the accurate categorisation of risks is completed. Risk mitigation solutions require to be carefully considered such that costs are factored into the picture while managing the risk within accepted limits.
Samphire has experience across these activities as well as preparing RBIM guidance documents.
Samphire has assisted clients to re-evaluate their assets bringing hands on experience to bear and helping provide an effective overall solution.
The work involved input from senior industry consultants and pulled from risk process development / methodology, asset configuration / operating basis, condition assessment (inc controls), inspection solutions, spares and campaign package management.
The work resulted in a significantly stream lined asset risk register with a focused mitigation basis truly aligned to risk factored for cost.
